Nine, they say, is the mystical number–the number of completion, infinity and beyond, and many other things.
For us, it is also the number of serendipity: Niña’s nickname is Nines; in 2009 she is 29 and Paul is 33 (3X3…); and after the decision to be united on that date was made, more signs and symbols revealed themselves to show that this, indeed, was the right date, the right number.
Our wedding wish was simple: to have an intimate ceremony witnessed by only a handful of our closest family and friends. The invitation to go to Milan to be part of the Homeless World Cup was way beyond our wildest dreams and expectations, but it is also a true manifestation of our joint calling to be instruments of change.
We couldn’t think of a more perfect way to begin our life together.
